Clar ICH – Presentation at NUIG, Galway

The SEAI Sustainable Energy Communities (SEC) West Region in conjunction with the National University of Ireland (NUI) Galway Sustainability Initiative hosted an Information and Networking Event in NUI Galway on Friday June 24th.

The purpose of the event was to provide Energy Communities in the West Region with an opportunity to share knowledge and insight and to meet with other members who are carrying out a diversity of energy efficiency projects.

During the event community partners were invited to provide short presentations. The presentation included, for example, details about the stakeholders, the goals they want to achieve and the road-map to achieving goals. It was envisaged that this would open up discussions on opportunities, barriers, support, synergies, needs, strengths, and how SEC’s might share knowledge and skills. Sarah Duffy, RECENT Coordinator based in Clár ICH Claremorris provided a presentation on the RECENT project and how communities can benefit from it.

The purpose of the event was to provide Energy Communities in the West Region with an opportunity to share knowledge and insight and to meet with other members who are carrying out a diversity of energy efficiency projects. Feedback from the event has been positive and hopefully the network will continue to provide support and insight to its members.
